3. The third time, Daniel is thinking seriously of sex and Vala at the same time because he had woken up, brushed his teeth, and stuck a leg into his boxers, when he found himself sitting at a table in a room at the SGC with a vague memory of eating pancakes and Vala's voice echoing in his mind. The echo reminds him of those memories he cannot retrieve, no matter how much he tries: buried under all his knowledge, but unable to pull out without knocking over the stack.

That night, he thinks he isn't sure what to think, but he also knows that isn't true; he can think about how strange he felt, watching the videos afterwards, and seeing himself do things he doesn't remember doing, but his body does, or he can think about the threat of the Ori, and the vague remembrance of mentioned things that didn't matter, so he never learned more, or he can think about how Earth has, multiple times, only barely avoided the fearful end that Tegalus came to, and that Kelowna nearly did as well. He falls asleep and dreams of Vala, and when Mitchell enters the equation, it's only as a buffer, to keep him from confusing Vala with Shau're, and it doesn't quite work because Mitchell's face keeps blurring into Jack's.

4. The fourth time, Daniel thinks of a threesome, and then immediately feels more guilty for the thought than anything, for he knows instinctively that the last thing Vala needs now (after having given birth to a daughter who then fast-forwarded through childhood, and of course the whole mess with Tomin, who obviously doesn't know what to think about Vala in relation to Daniel) is sex. So Daniel ignores Mitchell (who does want sex of any shape, size or form, because the Korelev is gone, and so many people he'd known are gone, and the stress of thinking his team was gone, makes him scared, though he'd never admit it, and the way he wants to relieve the tension is sex), goes home, and everyone is none the wiser. He thinks Mitchell and Sam may have gone off together to wind down, though.

That night is the first time he dreams of a threesome in which Vala and Mitchell are not replaced with Shau're and Jack.
