Re: Five Memos Jack Never Read

And Daniel has to dispose of many of his memos because in the search for a flat surface to place his coffee mug on, he finds the pile of memos to be an acceptable place, whereas the rest of the space is taken up by important reference books and rare artifacts, and occasionally that coffee spills. But of course the first thing Daniel does when he receives a memos is read it, so this never causes a problem.

Jack gets very frustrated that the memos were simply stacking up on Daniel's desk, when Daniel should have disposed of them as soon as they were read, for neatness' sake. This means that if there is an available pile of memos when Jack is in Daniel's office, he feels obliged to turn them into paper airplanes and sail them about the room, just to encourage Daniel to dispose of them properly. Daniel finds this almost as aggravating as picking up his fragile artifacts and fiddling with them, largely because it is so predictable and Jack knows he hates it, and yet if he disposes of the memos immediately, as Jack would want, then how would he reserve a space to put his cup within reach? And what would soak up the slopped coffee before it reached his books?
