Yeah, sorry the explanation wasn't in the fic. I was hurrying too much!

Forget Daniel. I would have had trouble not pushing that button. Wouldn't you? Personally I'm an optimist, so I'd be feeling that something good was likely to happen. Otherwise why would they build that room? Unfortunately, sometimes being curmudgeonly can sometimes be a good thing, as little as I'd like to admit that.
