Five times Carolyn was glad she took the SGC job

She was glad when she met the nurses on her staff, and even more glad as she got to know them. There’s nothing like working with the cream of the crop, and, thanks to the discipline the military had instilled in them, she could freely associate with them outside of the Mountain without worrying about losing her authority. And since Carolyn was a civilian, they had nothing to feel awkward about, so the first tentative invitations soon became a regular occurrence. Luanna Pritchard made a mean margarita, Geoff Dyson had the inside track on new restaurants, Kathi Bean organized hockey tickets, and Stacy Rabinowicz was the go-to person for live music with no cover charge. Carolyn’s social life was the best it had been in years.

She was glad when she was present at the birth of cutting-edge medical technology and techniques and drugs, brought from other worlds and used to save limbs and lives and livers in her infirmary, her operating rooms. She didn’t want credit, she wouldn’t take credit if it were offered to her. She just wanted the best possible outcomes for the personnel in her care, and the excitement of knowing that one day these wonders would be the standard of care globally.

She was glad when the job led to her reconciliation with her father, to her parents’ reconciliation, to their eventual talk of remarriage. That talk never led anywhere – they’d been too many years apart and were too comfortable on their own – but they were dating, and Carolyn thought it was the cutest thing and tried not to think too much about how those dates presumably ended. She was just happy to see them happy.

She was very glad she’d taken the job as she got to know Cameron Mitchell. Hot, sweet, brave, sexy, gentlemanly, fun. Fun in the sack. Awesome in the sack. It was Cam who first felt the lump in her breast.

Carolyn was very glad that she’d taken the job at the SGC as she sat holding Cam’s hand while Vala Mal Doran used a Goa’uld healing device to cure her cancer. Very glad.

We didn't get to see a whole lot of Carolyn (partly thanks to Daniel MS getting her pregnant), but that never stops us from filling in the blanks! I'm glad you like it. :-)

I probably wouldn't have known about Lexa being pregnant, but when Daniel disappears for an episode or two because MS is on paternity leave, it alllll fits together!

Daawwwwww!!! I love them all! That's a lovely wibble at the end. But the best part is her dealing with her parents being so annoyingly human.

She's willing to put up with them being human, as long as there's plausible deniability. ;-)
