------------------------------------------
1. That not everyone associated with the Goa'uld were automatically evil.
He'd thought this at first, when Sha're and Ska'ra had been taken. He'd been convinced that nothing good could ever come out of those creatures. Until he met Teal'c and he realised that the Goa'uld were truly just parasites. He decided that very moment to learn all he could in order to free not only his wife, but his new-found friend too.
2. That meditating means more than just staring into space while chanting.
He'd seen Teal'c during his Kelno'reem several times, each time growing more intrigued by the way the Jaffa explained it to him. "It is more than just a method of relaxation, Daniel Jackson," Teal'c had said. "It provides a way for the mind and the soul to realign themselves." Daniel tried it not long after Teal'c had told him that. He never became as proficient as Teal'c, but he began to feel something changing inside him.
3. That strength has as much to do with the mind as with the body.
Teal'c was the strongest person Daniel knew. But before he'd learnt to understand the other man, Daniel had believed that the strength Teal'c held was nothing more than physical. After realising that he had walked away from everything he knew, leaving his wife and son behind, in order to fight for what he believed in, Daniel concluded that the true strength of a man cannot be measured by the size of his muscles.
4. That humans have a very self-centered way of looking at the world.
Of course this one, Daniel had always suspected. But it wasn't until Teal'c's astonishment at the behaviour of the politicians who visited the SGC that he finally saw it through an outsider's eyes. He was saddened by the revelation, but admitted that there was nothing he could do to change the whole human race. As much as he might like.
5. That Oprah is actually pretty damn awesome.
Teal'c's fascination with daytime television had always been a particular point of amusement within SG1, but when he challenged the rest of the team not to "criticise something which you have not yet experienced", Daniel yet again realised that he was right. On a rare afternoon off, the two of them sat on the sofa in Daniel's apartment and watched three episodes back-to-back. Before the first episode had finished, Daniel found himself crying. By the end of the third, the two of them were hugging each other and swearing to guard their friendship forever.

2- How to fight with a staff weapon. Teal'c always cautioned him about stopping an approaching enemy before they got close enough to touch. Teal'c knew that Daniel Jackson would lose if the fight became hand-to-hand.
3- How to use his back and shoulders to power a puck into the net. All the pain and time spent practicing was worth it to see the expression on Jack's face.
4- How to draw on the peace and quiet of kelno'reem to temporarily escape his world.
5- That no one is either totally good or totally bad. Good people do bad things and bad people do good things.
