The five animals at the zoo which most fascinate Teal'c.

1. the giraffes. they're so tall.
2. the elephants. he was fascinated by how they could pick things up with their trunks.
3. the rhinos. their horns remind him of some of the more formidable armor he's seen in the galaxy.
4. the manatees. teal'c can't understand how sailors could think they were mermaids, even if they were dehydrated.
5. the platypuses. once, before he was first prime, versions of them killed 8 jaffa in a unit that teal'c commanded on a planet that they were investigating for apophis. needless to say they didn't go back.

The five animals at the zoo which most fascinate Teal'c.
Porcupine, skunk, tarantula. Whether for offense or defense, these creatures have their own special weapons, and Teal’c appreciates weaponry. As well, the tarantula reminds him of a pet he once had as a boy. It, too, was venomous.
The American bison. Teal’c has read of the millions upon millions of bison that once covered the American plains, and of how they were hunted to near extinction for their hides, until fewer than one thousand were remaining. He thinks of the Jaffa, and their slaughter, sent out in vast herds to do battle against one another for the glory of their respective false gods.
Like the bison of today, the Jaffa peoples will survive and grow their numbers. And, like the bison of old, they shall live free.

I suppose it was the DVDs that made me think of the meerkats, lol.

2) Kangaroos. He can relate to their pouch.
3) The giraffes because they look as if they were made of leftover parts. Never would he have ever imagined such a creature. The elephants come a close second, but they are not so graceful nor as prettily marked.
4) The gorillas because sometimes when he looks into their eyes, he thinks he sees a brother enslaved by its limitations.
5) The otters because they remind of someone he knows. They appear to be buffoons, but when pressed, they become mighty warriors.
Bonus: The one place at the zoo he will not visit is the place where they keep the spiders. He would never admit to being afraid of them, but he finds them ugly to look upon. In fact, the team usually makes Sam go look by herself while they get ice cream.
