John's five favorite foods

John's five favorite foods

1. Hot dogs. Call him a kid at heart. With chopped onions, ketchup, and just a touch of spicy mustard.

2. Juicy prime rib, with horseradish for dipping. And a big green onion or two on the side.

3. He’s never been a big fruit eater, but pears would have to rank as his favorite, and they’ve found a Pegasus galaxy version that surpasses anything that Earth has to offer as far as he’s concerned. So far his favorite recipe has been baked and seasoned with allspice. Makes his mouth water just to think about it.

4. Tuna casserole from the commissary. It amazes him to think that he had to travel to a distant galaxy to find something that comes so close to the dish that his mom used to make when he was a kid. “What, again?” he used to complain. Now he smiles, and has seconds.

5. Anything that he can steal off of Rodney’s plate. He’ll never forget the look on Rodney’s face the first time he stole a french fry. He loves the glares, and the outraged “Hey!”s. Makes everything taste so much better.

We all know how personal it is to take food off of someone's plate without asking. Kind of like adjusting someone's glasses. :)

These are fun, and I like that you gave him a commissary dish as a favorite, since commissary food usually gets a lot of abuse. Which tuna casserole does too, come to think of it, so you've done a double favor, which maybe was the idea. *g*

It's a real touch of home for him. Pre-Air Force.

And hey, I eat Tuna Helper, which doesn't remind me of anything my mother used to make. ;-)

(Not straight out of the box, mind you. I season it up with some fresh dill, fresh-ground black pepper, throw in a cup of veggies. Gourmet stuff, I tell you!)
