I like the way you did this. Probably just how Jack would explain it, too. "On one hand..."

Checks and balances, kind of. Sometimes one thing outweighs the other, sometimes they balance out, sometimes you come out ahead.

Because you really can't prove faith no matter how many words you use. Very Jack.

As ever very sweet Sid. I miss Jack :(

And in at least one more episode of SG-1!
And *fingers crossed* hopefully in the two movies they're talking about.

A second list might have consisted of: The Simpsons, beer, hockey, poker and fishing. Of course Jack would give all of those up for Daniel.
Maybe not all at once.
3 out of 5? Daniel is good at negotiating.

Five reasons Jack thinks God might actually exist despite the galaxy's attempt to prove otherwise
Miracle of Flight: A family trip to visit relatives in Chicago gave him first airplane ride. It changed his world. He worked hard to get into the Air Force Academy, then he worked harder. He knew the poem by heart. ‘And, while with silent, lifting mind, I trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space. Put out my hand, and touched the face of God!’ When he flew, Jack ‘danced the skies’, and believed.
Miracle of Birth: He’ll never know how he came to be the father of the most adorable boy on the planet. That day his grandma had told him, “God’s in his heaven and all’s right with the world.” For eight short years, Jack agreed. Then Jack fucked up. He still believed God had to exist, because Jack had to share the blame, he had to.
Miracle Play: Jack’s torturers in Iraq were quite adamant that his god would need to work a miracle before he would get out of prison. Fuck ‘em. Jack helped God on this one.
Miracle of Resurrection: Time after time, SG-1 managed to save the world, save lives and save each other. Returning from the dead and sort of dead. Nobody ever had the incredible dumb luck that SG-1 did. How else can you explain that? If asked, he’ll deny it, but he believes God must mostly like earth.
Miracle of Miracles: Over the years, without specifying the classified information, Daniel learned about all of the disgusting and shocking things Jack had done while serving his country. As time went by, he told Daniel all the disgusting and shocking things that had been done to him. To Jack, it was a miracle that, still, Daniel loved him.

And, the best for last, of course! *sigh* Daniel will always love him, no matter what.
Squee!

Jack will never forgive himself nor think he's good enough for Daniel. But we know better. :)
