Prompt 54.05
Five conspiracies against members of SG-1 that they never knew about.
Participation is open to all. If this is your own prompt, you're free to write to it (please do!). Post your list as a comment to this post, adding additional comments if you exceed the character limit. It's OK to post as Anonymous, then come out later or not as you choose. Responses will be screened until midday U.S. Pacific time September 29 to see what people come up with independently. You can still respond to the prompt after the unveiling, but September 29 is the official due date.
If your response is too long to post in (say, fewer than five) comments and you'd prefer to post to your journal and comment here with the link -- or if you feel strongly about posting content to communities and really want to keep the fic on your journal only -- we ask that you keep your entry set to private until we unveil here. Go ahead and comment here with the link; if you forget to set the privacy on your entry to public on unscreening day, you'll get comment replies here reminding you. :-)
General info and a place to ask questions: the comm 'welcome' post.
Technical-support questions: tech help.
Suggestions: the suggestion box.
To supply a new prompt: the open call for prompts.
Subject-line spoiler warnings for S5 SGA eps and Continuum, thanks!
September 29 is the official deadline. If you're posting a response after the unveiling announcement on September 29, please copy the link to your comment, click on the 'set 54' tag, and reply to the post 'Set 54 Responses Unscreened' with the link to your new comment-response. That helps people find and read and comment on responses that weren't there when they cruised through right after the reveal. Pimp the link in your journal, too, if you want to let your flist know you've posted something new.

Five conspiracies against members of SG-1 that they never knew about.
Daniel was so sure that books and artifacts of his were being stolen from his lab, so he was constantly watching out for it. What he didn’t realize was that the real trick was how his regular coffee was getting a little more decaf added to it each day, so he would drink more and more of it to get the same buzz. The conspirators never took it to the last step of giving him totally regular coffee again and watching the resulting high—but whether there was outside intervention or the spark of mercy, will never be known.
As an Ancient, Daniel had been shocked to find that a small portion of Oma-supporters wanted to ascend all of SG-1 the next time they died (which they thought was a likely occurrence). He didn’t get the memory back, but apparently he gave them quite a tongue-lashing about that sort of interference without asking permission first. By that point he wouldn’t have wished that fate on anyone.
No one important knew, but the entire SGC base had plans on how to get various team members “hooked up” with each other or past residents of the base. How do you think Vala into Daniel’s room that first time?
And of course, SG-1 never knew about the conspiracy to get them all to watch Farscape and make the connection, because Mitchell was the only one who got it, and kept his mouth firmly shut for once.

#1 I refuse to think Siler could be that cruel. :P

I always wondered about how Vala got past her guard! The guard had money in a pool, probably. *g*
Love the coffee prank. :-)
