Five crises averted by Teyla

Teyla knew that finding a caffeine source didn't directly solve any crises. However, since being up at all hours was valuable for saving their asses on a regular basis and half the base was going through withdrawal, her search certainly helped. So, while no crises were directly averted, Rodney was sure that they wouldn’t be alive without it.
When John put his elbow on the table during a mission, the audible intake of breath around them was a sure fire sign that they had offended the Natives. Of course, guns were drawn, yelling was had, and Teyla gracefully turned things around with a few words. Sheppard just closed his eyes and remained ever thankful for Teyla always having their backs.
Teyla didn’t know what the purpose of paper, scissors and rock was exactly. But she knew that losing always made both Rodney and Ronon grumpy for the rest of the mission, and John sulk. She felt that making the various decisions herself, such as who got what MRE, was more beneficial to the team overall. If she ended up with the one she wanted every time, well that was an added bonus.
Teyla solved so many little things every single day that sometimes it went unnoticed. People came to her to get their anger out as she danced around them with sticks. Her advice was always welcome from relationship issues to cultural differences to military advice. No one would ever really know that crises she adverted, but the shy marine who seemed to be deliberately getting into trouble did, the botanist that managed to take down her first assailant did and the chef who was ready to pack up and leave did.
Only Teyla spoke the language of the Enzah people. She knew if they just gained a little time, she could get them out of here, but the Enzah people weren’t very interested in talking it through and more interested in cutting off heads to appease their gods. She had to protect her team so when finally they addressed her, asking who their leader was, she replied with a defiant “me”.
