Five New Year's Resolutions Vala made.

3. spend less time gossiping with sam
4. prove to general landry that's she's more useful than he thinks

1. Have sex with Daniel. This is at the top of her list of priorities. Really, she thinks of it as a rescue mission, not only for Daniel but for everyone he has to work with--the man seriously needs to get laid.

Seriously.

2. Add to her lingerie collection. A woman needs pretty things, and shopping with Sam is delightfully fun.
3. Find treasure. It's been far too long since she has, and she doesn't want to lose her touch. Besides which, the SGC really could do with learning new ways to operate in the universe.
4. Do a bit of matchmaking. Daniel is not the only one in need of rescuing at the SGC, after all.
5. Stop the Ori invasion of their galaxy. Whatever it takes. It would be a good note to end the year on, she thinks.

Five New Year's Resolutions Vala made

When the tradition of New Year’s resolutions was explained to her, Vala thought it was an excellent idea. She obviously didn’t need to lose 10 pounds or get more fit; she didn’t need to save money for a car or a cruise; she steered well clear of religion these days, thank you very much; she had no family with which to spend more time, or at least that were deserving of a minute’s worth of her time.

So that took care of what Sam had told her were typical American-type resolutions. What was left?

1. Sleep with Daniel
2. Sleep with Teal’c
3. Sleep with Mitchell
4. Sleep with Sam
5. Decide which two of them would contribute the most passion, the most playfulness, and the best moves to a threesome.

But instead, she found herself in another galaxy, married to a man that she could love but never trust, pregnant with a child that might be a monster, and left with only one resolve: to get home before it was too late.

Aw, Vala. She did have kind of a rough year, didn't she? And here I was grinning my way through the list (and laughing at loud at #5! Perfect.) Great list!

#1=#5, heh, of course! Really especially like the framing bits, tho -- the Very Vala way the typical resolutions are dispensed with, and the bitter owwch of the end-of-that-year update. It's cool how anchoring it with the first time she heard about the tradition sets it up for that. You played with time in a bunch of your responses this set, in neat ways.

I was afraid that #1-#5 were too shallow, that they played into the Vala image that her detractors can't get past. So I decided it needed a footnote and, oh dear, there could really only be one.

I did play with time a lot! Fictional time only, alas, or I could surely rule the universe. ;-)
