Love the structure of this -- Mitchell talking himself out of the things he'd change, or acquiescing to/acknowledging that it would be disadvantageous to change them. Neat observations of the team through his eyes. And the line she was valuable resource in a universe that seemed to insist on a certain amount of ethical flexibility is just so well phrased -- I love that. And the line about the MREs that follows it, perfect. :-)
