(Many, many thanks to Paian for the beta!)

1. The first one to surprise them in a ... delicate situation was Major Lorne. He had to deliver a very important message from the Daedalus, and after Colonel Sheppard didn’t answer the door, although he was in his quarters, Lorne feared the worst and used his Ancient gene to open the door.

Colonel Sheppard was kneeling naked on the bed, behind the equally naked Dr. McKay, buried balls deep in the scientist.

“I ... I’ll ... be back in five minutes,” Lorne stuttered, horrified, and fled.

Six minutes later he was back, and when the colonel started to apologize and explain, Lorne interrupted him, grinningly.

“It’s me who has to apologize, sir. To give you only five minutes, what was I thinking?”

2. The longer Lieutenant Cadman was in Rodney’s head, the better she was able to read all his thoughts when she really concentrated. After the nearly disastrous date with Katie and Carson, she was astonished and pleased to learn that Rodney admired Colonel Sheppard’s ass and wasn’t asexual or only married to his science as she had feared for a moment.

The colonel was bending over a console and fixing a cable when Rodney started mentally salivating at the sight. Just when she wanted to scold him with an amused an allegedly shocked “Rodney!” she sensed his next thought: Sheppard bent over the desk in Rodney’s laboratory, his trousers hanging on his knees!

She gasped when she noticed that this wasn’t a mere fantasy; Rodney was recalling events from a few days ago. Dammit!

After a short hesitation, she “leaned back”, and remembered together with Rodney how wonderful Sheppard’s ass had felt under his hand...

3. “No! Zatraceně! Crap! Again, life-sign detector isn’t working properly!” Zelenka cursed in Czech and English and tapped his index finger angrily on the display, but the picture didn’t change.

“It isn’t possible that two signs are in one place,” he mumbled. Sighing deeply, he decided to check it out. He followed the detector and when he arrived at a storage closet he frowned but managed to override the security log.

He rounded the corner, passed several shelves, and after the last one he saw Rodney and the colonel lying in a tangle of arms and legs on two big storages boxes, kissing and moaning, oblivious to their surroundings.

Radek adjusted his glasses and took a good look.

Smiling, he tiptoed back without making a noise and restored the security log. He wouldn’t tell anybody why it was possible to observe two life-signs in one place at once.

4. They found out too late that the Haythorians were able to read their minds like an open book, and that they didn’t respect personal boundaries or private thoughts.

“Colonel Sheppard, we know that you and Dr. McKay have a forbidden relationship. And if we out you to your superiors, you’ll lose your job and face other unpleasant consequences.”

McKay stared open-mouthed at the friendly chancellor who had invited them for dinner.

Sheppard crossed his arms and smirked. “So what?”

“We have an offer for you.”

“Blackmail?”

“Do you want to return to Earth? Leave Atlantis permanently?” With these words they had got precisely to the heart of Sheppard’s fears.

Sheppard pursed his lips. Crap. They had to get out of here, the sooner the better – and the threat of exposure was the least of their problems. If the Haythorians knew that he was sleeping with McKay, they were able to access more important secrets.

“What do you want?”

“A contribution to our sperm bank from two of the strongest and,” he nodded to McKay, “brightest gene carriers in the Pegasus Galaxy.”

When they flew back to Atlantis, Sheppard saw the same uneasiness he felt, also in the eyes of the other expedition personnel. He didn’t ask what they had had to do, but sensed their relief when he announced that they would cancel this gate-address forever from their list.

5. Jeannie had coaxed John into persuading Rodney to make a little side-trip to Vancouver the next time they were on Earth.

It had been a pleasant stay so far, although Jeannie was playing mercilessly on Rodney’s guilty conscience about the incident with the nanites. She made him accompany Madison to the zoo, the playground and the funfair. The next day, Rodney had to watch cartoons and build Lego-castles with his niece. He complained, but John noticed that he sort of liked the carefree atmosphere in Jeannie’s household.

They were having breakfast when Madison told them proudly that she would have a baby-sister in five months.

There were hugs and congratulations and a toast to the new baby with coffee, milk and tea.

Madison crawled onto Rodney’s lap and asked him innocently: “Uncle Mer, will you and John also have a baby?”

Rodney turned beet-red and coughed.

“Why, sweetie?” John inquired with a big false smile, his mind racing.

“Mom said, when you love someone very, very much, and kiss him, and sleep in the same bed with him, you can have a baby. Well, you sleep in the same bed in the guest room, and you kissed my uncle yesterday in the garage,” she explained to John.

When John scratched his neck and answered, “But you know ...” he saw Madison smile sanctimoniously. Of course the little minx knew all the relevant biological details! She had only been acting the naive girl!

“Meredith!” Jeannie yelled and boxed her brother on the arm. “You and John?” Then she grinned over her whole face.

“We ... I ... I mean ...” Rodney stuttered and looked helplessly at John.

“I think we have been outed, Rodney,” John smiled.

“I’m so sorry, John,” Rodney put his niece down and gave her a death-glare.

“Don’t be,” John said and kissed Rodney under the applause and howling of the whole Miller family.

1) Kavanagh threatened to, but Rodney convinced him that he’d never work again and promised him a job at Midway if he’d keep his mouth shut which Kavanagh took immediately, thinking it would get him out of reach of both Rodney and the Wraith. He didn’t mention to Rodney that Sheppard threatened to scalp him and wear his ponytail on his tac vest as a memento.
2) Lorne found John and Rodney in a compromising position late one night after a particularly difficult mission, but since he was with one of his marines, he just said, “I’m not asking, sir,” to which Sheppard answered, “I’m not telling,” and Lorne took his partner to find another isolated balcony.
3) Teyla. She was in favor of people taking comfort where they could.
4) Ronon. He didn’t understand the silly Tauri rules, but he protected his teammates’ backs, no matter what they were doing.
5) Daniel Jackson outed them to General O’Neill. Since they were in bed at the time, it was more gossip than really outing. Jack remarked that he thought Sheppard would have better taste and gone after the very tasty-looking Lorne. Daniel sulked for a bit until Jack swore on his favorite Mary Steenburgen DVD that Daniel was much tastier looking than Lorne and smarter to boot.
