Five SG-1 motorcycle road trips
Fortunately, Daniel had had the foresight to pay for insurance, so they got a ride back to Colorado Springs with one phone call.
2. The second one was Sam’s idea. Daniel had been missing for weeks with the Orici, she’d just come back from the land of President Landry, and she was convinced they all needed a break from the search. The others took more convincing, but she put on her most pitiful expression, which won them round worryingly quickly. Since Landry would only agree to them taking two days off, it was more of a camping trip than a road trip, but it was worth it just to hear the four of them laughing around the campfire as Cam set fire to every one of his marshmallows and burned his mouth trying to eat them anyway.
3. The third one was Daniel’s idea, to everyone’s surprise. He said they needed to rebond after his time away. Cam looked faintly alarmed, and made Lam check that Daniel wasn’t somehow channeling him, since Daniel had never once let the word bond cross his lips in reference to the team. No-one mentioned that Vala came back with a copy of Daniel’s book in her pack. It seemed to make Daniel feel better to know she had it.
4. The fourth time was Teal’c’s idea, because he wanted to go to an out of state music festival that someone – he wouldn’t say who – had told him about. “Will we have to camp in a muddy field?” Vala, who’d been watching Glastonbury videos on Youtube, asked dubiously.
“Yes, but there might be mud wrestling,” Sam teased. That sold Vala, who made a number of new friends at the festival when she suggested they participate in about of mud wrestling, and clearly it would be unwise to do so while fully dressed.
Cam wished he’d never agreed to keep an eye on her. That was far more of his team-mate than he ever wanted to see.
5. The fifth time was goodbye, the team dispersing so only Vala and Cam would be left on the team. No-one was entirely sure four times were enough to qualify as a tradition, but no-one could think of a better tradition – “Getting shot at? Running for our lives?” “Not what I had in mind” – and so they went.
Landry, to his credit, waited until they were a week late to call and ask what the hell they thought they were playing at.
Re: Five SG-1 motorcycle road trips
Of course Vala would embrace semi-unclothed mud wrestling. Sounds like Daniel, Sam and Teal'c were wisely staying far, far away? LOL
Love #5! The very best team bonding, and it happens when they're supposed to be letting go. :-)

Oh God yes. But Cam's the team leader, he's morally obliged to keep an eye on things...

I love the reactions when Daniel suggests a team bonding exercise, because that does seem a little out-of-character for him. And I'm very amused by the idea of Teal'c proposing a team trip.
Re: Five SG-1 motorcycle road trips
His ideas for team bonding so often seem to fail
They bond through adversity!

I think Daniel figures out that the rest of them need it, and sometimes it's easier just to give in gracefully.
