Five Times Someone from SG1 Cried

1) Sam cried after the last time they tried unsuccessfully to reach the Tollen. She waited until she was home alone.
2) Teal’c cried when he held his grandson for the first time. Rya’c and Bra’tac cried with him.
3) Vala cried after the umpteenth time Daniel rejected her advances. She told herself that it was purely sexual frustration and nothing else.
4) Daniel cried on the first anniversary of Shau’ri’s death. Teal’c shed tears too, as Daniel sobbed on his shoulder.
5) They all cried at General Hammond’s funeral when his granddaughter Kayla sang ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ for him.

Five times George Hammond cried

He didn’t cry when his wife died. He was numb. Stunned, even though he’d been trying to prepare himself. He cried three months later, when, for the first time, he remembered her as she was before her illness. Vibrant, happy, strong. He wasn’t crying out of grief, but from joy. Joy that he could finally remember her the way she should be remembered. He had all of her back now, not just her final struggle.

He cried with great gulping sobs the night after his granddaughters were kidnapped to teach him a lesson. Tessa and Kayla were unharmed, but they weren’t safe. They would never really be safe, even though he knew now that he had no choice but to step down as head of the SGC. He would do everything he could to protect them, but they would never really be safe, and he wept helplessly.

George Hammond cried the day his mother died. He was 62 years old and suddenly, devastatingly, an orphan. He hadn’t cried for his father, who had died sixteen years previously. His father had been a son of a bitch and not worthy of a single tear. George learned everything he needed to know about being a father, and a father-figure, from his step-dad.

He cried the day Daniel Jackson ascended. He’d already done his grieving for his friend’s painful, inevitable end; these tears were of relief rather than sorrow. He didn’t know how to fit Ascension in with the beliefs he’d cherished since he was a child, but he knew he would be eternally grateful to whatever Power had granted Daniel a second chance. He’d never known anyone who deserved it more.

He cried when the word came that the Ori threat had ended. The Ori, as hoped, were long dead, and the Priors had finally been turned from Origin. It wasn’t that the Goa’uld threat had been lesser, exactly, but that it had been one Goa’uld at a time, where the Ori armies had been united, single-minded and Biblical in their devastations. Now it was over, and George couldn’t, no matter how he tried, imagine any threat to the Earth that would be on that sort of scale ever again.

It was time for him to lay down his arms, and rest.

i used a bit of creative license...

1. Everyone knows about the time Jack cried from sorrow while watching the energy-alien-Charlie leave.

2. Almost everyone knows about the time Jack cried in frustration at being forced to watch his team killed over and over again during the GameKeeper incident.

3. General Hammond, Janet, and a few close members of the top brass of the SGC know about the time Jack cried in despair as Ba'al tortured him to death over and over again.

4. Sam and Teal'c knew about the time Jack cried in loss when Daniel died.

5. Only Daniel knew about the time Jack gasped back a sob of relief the night Daniel remembered them. Only Daniel knew about the time Jack cupped his jaw and kissed him tenderly. Only Daniel knew about the time Jack's cheek brushed against his, wet with tears, as Jack pressed small kisses down the side of Daniel's throat. Only Daniel knew about the time he had unwittingly forced Jack to break, and only he knew about the time he helped start to put Jack back together.
