1. Jonas. Cam got enthusiasm, and he couldn’t get enough of it either. Hell, the main reason he let Daniel apply to Landry for Vala’s team badges was because she wanted to be on the team just that much. Cam didn’t like letting anyone down, and seeing Jonas’ nostalgia made him itchy for a six-person team. Jonas would also (possibly) be the first member of SG-1 who wouldn’t tease Cam, which made the fact that Cam wasn’t allowed to recruit him doubly painful.
2. Nyan. What was it about every archaeologist but Jackson being idealistic and enthusiastic? Cam couldn’t help it, he liked that. Jackson’s snark and caution were invaluable, but Nyan was just cool. There were all kinds of cool, and Jackson offered another kind, but Cam wished he could have Nyan’s too.
3. Cassie. The kid had skills, mean medic-in-training skills that would be useful whenever he or Jackson inevitably ended up with injuries. That, and the way she could turn a witty phrase, had Cam feeling all uncle-like. The notion that she might also have some dirt on his afore-mentioned teasing teammembers had nothing to do with the fact that Cam was just waiting for the day she could join the Air Force and be eligible to recruit. Nothing whatsoever.
4. Paul Davis. Poor guy hadn’t been promoted in his whole time dealing with the SGC, and it sure would be nice to have someone who could handle negotiations with a cool head. He was also a bigger SG-1 fanboy than Cam had been, which tickled Cam’s sense of justice.
5. His grandmother. Because there were times when he didn’t remember her good advice, and he was afraid he’d forget something really big one day and destroy the universe. And he couldn’t live with himself if that ever happened.
