skieswideopen: Cam in a black t-shirt, looking down (SG: Cam)

Five times Cam didn't lose his pants (but kinda wished he had)

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] rinkafic for the brainstorming!

1. "They aren't serious, are they?" Cam groaned. "No pants? What kind of people make their visitors parade around half-naked?"

"Not quite naked," Sam grinned. "You can keep your underwear."

"Don't worry about it, Mitchell," Jackson said. "I'll do it."

Which seemed very charitable to Cam, right up until he found out that the ritual ended with Jackson surrounded by a bunch of pretty girls. In a tent. For the rest of the night.

Jackson, of course, swore that nothing happened.

2. Gretza were surprisingly vicious creatures for their size. Mouse-small, but sharp teeth. And they travelled in packs, which was something the biologists who first surveyed the planet forgot to include in their report. Cam cursed them--and the sturdy ripstop of his BDUs, which would not tear beneath those teeth--as he ran for the water with a half-dozen gretza clawing their way up his legs.

3. Cam tugged on his pants, trying to get the seams straight. "Do we really have to wear this stuff?"

"It's not that bad," Jackson said, fiddling with his own outfit.

"Easy for you to say," Cam said, eyeing the loose robes Jackson had been handed by their hosts. He glanced down at his own skin-tight, almost translucent clothing, and the noticeable bulge it highlighted. "I'd rather go out there in my skivvies. They offer better coverage."

4. Cam was really hoping to lose his pants on Atlantis--preferably along with the rest of his clothing, and John's too--but every time they tried, something came up. John was called to the control room. Cam was called to Sam's temporary lab. John's whole team walked in on them just as things were starting to get interesting. Cam's whole team walked in on them just before things got embarrassing.

Cam eventually resigned himself to spending the trip fully dressed, and started making plans for John's next visit to Earth.

5. They sent SG-1, of course.

"We need our best on this," Landry told them grimly. "Needless to say, the IOA and the president both want this kept as quiet as possible."

Even with the warnings, Cam was nearly sick when he saw the scene that awaited him. His breath caught in his throat and then he schooled himself to stillness, forcing himself not to turn away. Footsteps crunched beside him.

"It was an accident," Sam said shakily, touching his arm.

He glanced away to look at her. She looked as sick as he felt, and he thought she was looking for reassurance as much as she was offering it.

Cam took a deep breath and took a few steps away, taking Sam with him. "We did this," he said in a low voice. He knew she understood him. It wasn't Earth or the SGC that was to blame--this had been an air raid. 304s. Air Force.

At that moment, surrounded by dead children, he wanted nothing so much as to tear off his entire uniform.
