Technical-support questions: tech help.
Suggestions: the suggestion box.
To supply a new prompt: the open call for prompts.
Subject-line spoiler warnings for SGA Season 4 eps and for spoiler-based speculation about the SG-1 movies, thanks!
If you're posting a response after the unveiling announcement, please copy the link to your comment, click on the 'set 31' tag, and reply to the post 'Set 31 Unscreened' with the link to your new comment-response. That helps people find and read and comment on responses that weren't there when they cruised through right after the reveal. :-)

Four times Daniel remembered he's a civilian and one time Jack reminded him. Pt. 2
"That was exciting." Jack's flippant words were at odds with his concerned expression. Daniel merely shook his head as he wiped his bloody hand on his pant leg and tried not to think about the past five minutes.
"The local population of PX4-039 will not be amenable to a mining agreement, O'Neill." Teal'c's voice was calm and Daniel wondered for the thousandth time how he managed that. Daniel's heart was pounding and he couldn't believe his hands weren't shaking.
"Ya think, T?"
"Indeed."
"Jack, how's Sam? She was hurt pretty badly when things went south." Daniel glanced at the rest of the gate room as he headed down the ramp, but didn't see Sam. He finally took a moment to look at the other general, who seemed to be getting more and more pissed off as they stood there. Oh. Right. Jack had told him the Pentagon was sending some "stuffed shirt", Jack's description, to discuss budgets or personnel or how many rolls of toilet paper the SGC used per month.
"Oh, you know Carter, she wanted to wait to see you two, but passed out during your grand entrance. Doc says it doesn't look too bad." Daniel sighed in relief and felt the tension flow out of him leaving exhaustion in its wake but he stood straight, not wanting to embarrass Jack in front of his visitor, no matter how much Jack disliked the man. Honestly, he didn't want to embarrass himself, but he'd use Jack as his excuse for now. "Go on, get to the infirmary. Shower. Have lunch. We'll debrief at 14:00. I'll bring pie."
Daniel shot a quick grin to his friend and waved tiredly as he trudged after Teal'c on his way to the infirmary.
"Doctor Jackson?" Daniel stopped, took a deep breath and turned to the as yet unnamed general. "As I understand it, your position on SG-1 is to communicate with the natives and open diplomatic relations between them and the SGC."
"Among other things." Daniel stood there feeling the blood he'd failed to wipe off his skin drying.
"Daniel brings many talents to the SGC." Again, Jack's voice was at odds with his expression. Anyone who knew him well would see the coldness creeping into his face.
"From what I've heard, and just seen, there are plenty of military personnel who could do what he does just as well." The man looked Daniel up and down with a faint air of distaste. "Perhaps better, given that it's difficult to discuss trade agreements when you're killing people instead of talking to them."
"Hey! That's enough, Berger." Jack's back was up but so was Daniel's.
"You're right." General Berger looked surprised at that. "But it's almost impossible to talk to the next potential trading partners if you're dead." Daniel forged on, anticipating Berger's response. "Yes, I said "almost". Perhaps if you read about what went on here instead of listening to rumors, you'd understand." Daniel returned Berger's once over and then spoke to his friend. "I'll see you at the debriefing, Jack.
